2007 PSS Festival Static Judging Outline
 
 

Judging criteria: 

Points:
The head judge will score using a similiar judging sheet, or his own judgement to narrow down entrants.  
Planes will be pre-screened by panel of pre-judges. The Head Judge will select the top 6-8 planes for final judging, and final judge based on criteria outlined. ALL judges decisions are final and final judging method may vary.  
Judges can request information about the plane from the Pilot/Builder. Such as: Is this an original design, or highly modified kit?  
   
Original Design / Scratch Built, 10 points can be awarded maximum.

Flight points will be awarded, if the wind permits.  (0 for no fly, 8 for attempted to fly, 12 for full flight)

Workmanship / Craftsmanship category: Judge will look at sharpness of trailing edges, gaps, fillets, general construction techniques, alignment of control surfaces, proper dihedral, blending of features, cowling / hatch fit, etc. The judge will also look at finish quality for marks, gouges, and anomalies in the finish.

Color and Markings category: Judge will look at the color, and determine if that is the proper color scheme, shade, accuracy depicted in the real aircraft being modeled. The judges must also address the markings, for their location, size, accuracy, weathering and overall match to the real plane. This includes finish details, such as rivets, panels, etc. Color documentation will be allowed and is recommended to due well.   30 Max
 
Accuracy of Outline category: Judge will look at the shape, scale, features, and overall accuracy to outline - 3-Views will be allowed. The judge in this category will look at details such as cockpit, drop tanks, bombs, etc. 3-View documentation will be allowed, and is recommended to due well (Not required).
